Plant I.D. please!
We have a large shrub growing in the grounds of Glamis. Can anyone please identify? No scent, bit of a pong like privet but that's all. It's just going over now. Thanks!

I see what you mean about the mystery shrub of my neighbours plants and the leaves arent too dis-similar. this looks like S. persica

Well, I've looked at the images of that and I'm not convinced its that, but you might be right. Thanks! Any other ideas anyone?

Nope, definitely not...it has no scent.

Not all of them do. It's definitely lilac, but which species, and which cultivar, I don't know. Too tall for S. x persica, and S. 'Josee'. Have a look at syringa komarowii subsp. reflexa.
