Hallo to you all. A friend of mine gave me a small Hibiscus syriacus that he bought today in a supermarket...Aldi I think...In the past I have lost Hibiscuses (is there such a word?) due to caring for them wrongly. Can anybody tell me how I can keep this one alive for more than a few weeks. Thanks for any answers. Regards from a very hot Wuppertal.

I have one I bought from the 99p shop about 3 yrs ago. I have it in a pot among my plants in the garden. It has grown well but never flowered so I repotted it and gave it a feed a few weeks ago . It has made quite a bit of new growth but still no sign of flowers :-(

Plant it in a sunny spot in the garden, water it well, and other than keeping an eye on it re the watering while it gets established, leave well alone. Perfectly hardy, they tend to come into leaf later than many other shrubs, but it'll do fine.
