Roses-any ideas re this? I don't want to use any sprays or chemicals and although my roses have been lovely this year they all get black spot. I know that you should pick them off and burn them but if 70/80% are affected would you take them all off? I would be left with twigs?
Also any thoughts-I have been advised to spray veg with a v weak dilution of lavander oil to deter/kill pests-do you think that this would still be classed as ok for an organic gardener? Thanks

I did read that burying banana skins round them helps but I wasn't overwhelmed by the results. I've given in and use Roseclear when the leaves first appear and once more later on only if needed. It doesn't affect any insects as its just antifungal, but if you don't want to go down that route please will you tell us if you find something else that works?

I have just found this link www.agardenforthehouse.com/2012/05/got-black-spot-get-milk/
Worth a try and as for lavender oil - well you couldn't get more organic than that.
