On a small patch of garden this year i sprinkled some wild flower seeds with pleasing results. Should i do anything with the ground when they have died back? Some have probably reseeded so do not know whether a forking over would do harm or good.

You probably need to rake it over and get rid of any weeds that have got in and then you might even have to re-seed the patch again next Spring.
