Malva 'Bibor Fehlo' : grown from seed and now 3ft, but has only been flowering for the last 4 - 5 weeks. I love it but have no idea how to care for it: should I stake it/would it prefer full sun next year (it's in dappled shade)/will it come true from seed??? Thanks!

Gosh, it's just a wee baby! I think it will be just the same as mine were. It looks small enough to be dug out and moved to a sunnier spot though. :))

I think you're right Karen - thanks - and I've been thinking the same, and scouting around this afternoon for a better place. As it could maybe do with a tad of support, I'm considering through the branches of Eleagnus 'quicksilver'.

Hi, this is Malva sylvestris, ssp mauritiana, fully hardy short lived perennial, prefers full sun, and will self seed, so I would move it , as you say it's in dappled shade, Derek.
