I wont feed it again this year either. during the winter rains most of the nutrients will get washed out of the soil.

thanks for your advice.
the reason i asked was because i've just applied an autumn feed to my lawn. so shrubs etc don't need an autumn feed i take it.

Grass will carry on growing if warm enough plus it normally contains a weed killer for moss dandelions etc so the lawn will get off to a good start in the spring , the Autumn feed contains very little nitrogen I have known people in work use the summer fertiliser and they ask me my grass is romping away but to wet to cut and thats why .
Others may but I never fertilize shrubs Autumn/ Winter time even when planting new either bare rooted or from pots , but always in the spring.
It just a waste of time and ££$$ IT just get washed out of the soil so the shrubs get very little benefit if any.

Next question
I would leave alone until next spring , winter is on its way so you really don't want to encourage any new growth as this will only be sappy and caught out by the 1st frosts , with most plants they are closing down for the winter , apart from a mulch which will protect the roots over winter, using fertilizer will quickly be washed away by the rain.
