Deciduous or evergreen?
Age and height would be helpful as well.
Location of new position (sunny, shade, partial shade, windy, frost pocket, etc.).

as a basic rule of thumb you have 2 windows with trees .either late autumn or early spring . id choose early spring as the plant will soon start growing and putting new growth down .stjohntongue is right to so its worth looking on google if your worried.
