Ive just read all the feed back on pruning roses but does this also apply to patio pot grown roses,also which is the best soil or compost to grow them in as last year the display was not as good as when they first were planted, i did feed them with miricle grow

I have had some for 5 years+ and I tend to trim by half every other year. They look less straggly then. :o)

I brought a Peach colour Patio Rose from my previous garden in 2001, planted it and it blooms every year ! Still a tiny Patio Rose, pretty though.

They just need a light trim over with a pair of scissors, usually, cutting off all spent flowers, etc. They're not one of my favourites - I've never yet known any to survive longer than a year and still look great.
