I started this blog a few years ago after writing the little poem, and thought I’d better finish it. I spent ages trying to find lovely pics of different roses of mine to add until I have become rose blind. I can’t find all the ones I want so these will have to do or this will remain in drafts:-)) another few years

Thanks Waddy I think most of us feel that way about roses:-)
4 Jul, 2020
Thanks Hywel, This is the reason I buy too many:-)

Feel a peach and pink theme coming on. And why not? Lovely pics and roses. Hope the eyes have uncrossed!!
Any chance of labelling them so we can all rush out and buy them for ourselves??

Beautiful words; beautiful roses. Thank You!

Now look here Anget, I hope I don't detect a little sarcasm here lol. Also, as if I hadn't worked enough, I now feel I should name the flippin' things .... wish I hadn't started >:-[ (angry face)
5 Jul, 2020
Hi Bg, thanks, now because of Anget I've got to name them ....I think it takes away a little of their mystery don't you? A rose by any other name etc .......:-)
5 Jul, 2020
beautiful roses and verse. I love the peachy tones and as for the purples wow.
5 Jul, 2020
Absolutely beautiful collection of roses and their scent must be heavenly.

Ha ha Ba, just reading your message to Anget, I love your sense of humour, we used to have some really funny ongoing comments years ago..
Now to be serious, perfect words for your perfect roses, and I love all the peachy apricot ones especially Fragrant Delight and the purpley one. Now come on Ba, get your thinking cap on and tell us the names of all the rest..
Do you watch Upstart Crow when it's on with David Mitchell as Will Shakespeare? Hilarious!
5 Jul, 2020
Thanks SBG only half way through naming them all, will finish today I hope:-)
5 Jul, 2020
Most are Chris thanks, but some have a weak perfume:-)
5 Jul, 2020
Thanks Janey, don't be so impatient you're nearly as bad as Anget. I have taken ages editing and find I have put the wrong name so have to remove it, check where it should be and start again, I'm not very organised lol, but I will finish it:-))
5 Jul, 2020
Phew .... all named!:-)
5 Jul, 2020
Me, sarcastic? Not at all. My OH would not recognise that description of his Dearly Beloved...
5 Jul, 2020
Ahem....there's one in the middle Ba you've left out. A peachy open one, very pretty...I would like the name please...:o))
Fragrant Delight, Ebbtide, Blue for you and Minerva are just gorgeous! I bet Munstead Wood packs a punchy perfume?
You've some wonderful Roses Ba, I hope they're safe in this wind today..
5 Jul, 2020
Like you, Janey, in the ones I like. The peaches and violets are always a lure. I'm off to Norfolk next week so will call into Peter Beales'. I don't know why we're going,BA, we have no more room. But I shall search out some of your beauties just to see what they're like...
5 Jul, 2020
I naturally defer to your poor OH's insider knowledge Anget :-)))
5 Jul, 2020
How pernickety can one be Janey. Perhaps you could tell me what it is in the middle of? If it is under the title Fragrant Delight, I would suggest it is a Fragrant Delight and so on ...... :-} (not sure what kind of face this is)
5 Jul, 2020
Not so much of the 'poor', (though he'd love the sympathy..)
5 Jul, 2020
Wow! Lovely photographs, so clear and beautifully captured. Pretty words too.
I just love the sunset coloured roses, just gorgeous! Oh, the fragrance on all of them...captivating.
Blog added to my faves:-))
5 Jul, 2020
Half way own the blog I really felt I could actually smell them for a little while!
5 Jul, 2020
Anget, he has mine:-)
5 Jul, 2020
Thank you Kate, I added the perfume via zoom lol:-)
5 Jul, 2020
Thanks Waddy, they are a special flower aren't they? :-)
5 Jul, 2020
Hello my lovely friend, and I'm in awe of all your beautiful Roses, and to name them for all to see,too ! That is true dedication, and very much appreciated.Sadly ,I lost my Fragrant Delight some time ago,and even my two 'Sir Cliff Richards' deserted me as well.was it something in the water,or something I said .?? I'm sure you will come up with a very good reason ! :o) xx
5 Jul, 2020
Ah....I see, Fragrant Delight it is then.....:o/ haha!
5 Jul, 2020
Ay up Sandra, I'm sure it wasn't something you said, some plants just don't know when they are well off ...ingrates!..Had it been some others on here, no names mentioned, I may have given a different answer. I'm touched that you also gave the Cliffs their full titles and still they left, just shows you can't trust the nobs. Any plant should think itself lucky to be in your lovely garden:-)
5 Jul, 2020
I hope so Janey or I've misremembered the name lol:-)
5 Jul, 2020
A lovely blog, obviously the roses are gorgeous, I swear I can smell that perfume and I've always liked your verses Ba, it was well worth the wait and exactly how I feel about roses, you have a gift of finding the right words.
However !!!! .....Might I suggest you make a start on the next one, don't make us wait too!!!!! long, not getting any younger, don'tcha know , lol.....Pretty Please....
So pleased you did name them it's really appreciated, I'm hoping when my top g'house flits over the fence, ( this autumn , fingers xx) that I can add some more, seeing these beauties has given me a yearning to add some darker ones to my collection...
I really love this blog, the comments made me chuckle, just like old times with all the banter, xx
6 Jul, 2020
I too love the words to describe the rose ! You have some beautiful roses B.A.
I could never have a garden big or small without roses in it!
7 Jul, 2020
I do love the second photo of Munstead Wood, it's just beautiful Ba...
7 Jul, 2020
I'm blushing at your compliments Lincs, just like a rose. Might I suggest re your glasshouse that vandals may visit one night while your OH is asleep and attack it with a hammer or catapult.... just a thought...:-) I've found another one I must have, never seen it in real life, but in David Austin brochure, it's called Comte de Champagne ... I think I'm in love. :-))
7 Jul, 2020
Thanks Rose, one day I may have a garden mainly of roses:-)
7 Jul, 2020
Now Janey, by the second Munstead, do you mean the one in bud or the one at the bottom of the page? I need you to be precise:-)))
7 Jul, 2020
Hahaha....I mean the one in bud...fab-u-lous!!
8 Jul, 2020
When we lived at Willow Cottage B.A, I had 66 roses! I loved them all, but now having downsized still have managed to have 26!
I will always find a place for a rose !
8 Jul, 2020
Thanks Janey, now I know lol:-))
8 Jul, 2020
I'm envious Rose. Oh no, now I've got to count mine (very competitive lol) no idea how many I've got, and if I buy the Comte de Champagne ..... Going to count mine sometime today:-)))))
8 Jul, 2020
If you buy the Comte do tell us. I have had a covetous eye on him, too. I think he would be wonderful for the insects.
Just counted my roses: 26! Can't believe that! But definitely can't compete with Rose's 66..
8 Jul, 2020
Ha Anget, Rose only has 26 now ....I haven't counted mine yet, but have a sneaking suspicion that I have at least 27 :-} (smug face)
8 Jul, 2020
Oh no....I don't believe it!!!... altogether I have 26!!!! Is this the magic number??? Well anyway, when the Comte de Champagne arrives I'll be the winner YaY!!! .. erm I haven't ordered it yet though:-))))
9 Jul, 2020
I've so enjoyed all these gorgeous roses. I only have two and one of these is sick unto death,(the other is a cracker though) so thank goodness for all the lovely goyers who show pics of theirs!.
10 Jul, 2020
Thanks Stera, I couldn't have a garden without roses:-)
