Brill, i just brought some, put only had a bag of soil, with what looked like 4 very thin sticks in it, was that thr roots?

Easy to grow, just like tomatoes.
However you need to grow at least two as they need to cross polinate.

I wouldn't, I'd pot them up and either place in a cold frame outside or against a wall of the house in a very sheltered spot, where you can keep an eye on them - once grown, plant out later (but be careful where you put them, the roots can be pretty invasive)

If you mean Physalis, they're not bulbs, they're roots.
