I have some lupin and snapdragon seeds given to me last autumn. For the best results, do I start them off in the greenhouse, or plant straight in the garden at the appropriate time?

Best in seed trays in the greenhouse, then prick them out and pot on.
I find that Antirrhinums (Snapdragons) germinate better with some heat. Your lupins won't flower this year, but the Antirrhinums will.
