I live in Cheshire NW and after the bad winter have lost all my cordylines and the yucca s are looking very unhappy do you think there is any hope of them reviving or do I just have to buy new plant ?

You could wait a bit longer to see what happens - give it till beginning of May for the Yucca (unless it deteriorates in a very obvious fashion before then) to see if there's any new growth anywhere.
