I want to have Buddleja in my garden. The soil is ok and they will have pleny sunshine. My question is, can they stand a very windy position.

You may need to stake it when it's young, but as Plantmaiden says they are pretty hardy and will take a fair bit of battering.

i do no recolect 100s of buddlejas fly in hte air durin hte hurricane of 1988 an simlar strong wind since- much hte same as anhtin else actaly - so i no thinkin wind is a problem in uk, even up to huricane leval

Hi Doddy and welcome to GOY. buddiias are very hardy.just remember when it is established to prune it by 1/3 in oct then give it a good prune to the last two buds in march.I hope this is of some help.
