I have a hole to fill where a conifer tree has died in a privacy hedge; I hate conifer hedges, and want to fill it with flowering climbers (supported by wires between neighbouring trees). I'm in the south of France - is this a good choice for the area? Thanks

Provided your winter temperatures aren't extreme (worse than ours, that is) this should be fine.
