My home made compost still has a lot of 'undigested' (ha ha) egg shell init. Will this harm my plants?

Yes, mine's the same. Once the compost is dug into the soil the eggshells soon break up and dissappear. One thing that is a nuisance is tea bags - I have to chop them up first or else they come out just as they go in - in one peice! Surprising really....makes me wonder what they makes those bags out of?!

Our organic tea bags compost down fine. Himself wont let me put egg shells in the compost as they take so long to break down and attract vermin

Drying 'should' make them more inclined to break down.

Not at all. I often add them and crush them first. very satisfying. they might even help keep slugs at bay.
