Prepare the ground by adding plenty of compost and work this well with your own soil. Dig the planting hole a little larger than the size of the pot. Place pot into hole to make sure depth is about right. Scatter a small amount of bone meal into the hole (no more than a level dessert spoon) and work in a little. Tap rim of pot (if plastic) with hand until it drops off. Carefully place rootball into planting hole and back fill with good top soil and compost mix. When nearly filled in, water thoroughly and finish filling in. Apply a scatter of slow release around the top of the soil over the area that the rootball covers underneath.
