Hebe heartbreaker appears to be living up to its variety name quite well as not belonging to the hardiest of Hebe's, after this winter, many may well have failed. Leave for now and see what growth comes away if any from the base.

I had one that failed a few years ago...but it was a very small plant. As Fractal has said.....its not all that hardy....except in the mildest of areas......However, it may surprise you!!
