I would like some help to Identify a tree please,it gets small white flowers first then it"s leaves next it bears hard green inedible fruits.It also has sharp spikes on its trunk it is very hardy....thanks

Thanks Spritzhenry but it is a very tall tree , they where put in by the council ages ago.

Maclura or Osage Orange perhaps? That makes a big tree with spikes on its trunk, followed by fruits. Just a wild guess, as a photo is a must.

I think I have managed to identify my tree ,it looks a lot like a Chaenomeles speciosa Nivalis a quince. It is just lovely at the minute a cloud of white blossom,I will get that photo taken.

Is this a Chaenomeles? Common name 'Japonica'? It's more of a large shrub, but the description fits otherwise????
