Tropaeolum either loves you or hates you. We have friends in Aberdeen who have it rioting through their garden and have the neighbour's gardens too! We had to eradicate it at is grew like a weed for us (even from seed) yet other folk would dearly love to have and it wont grow. All of us have a light, well drained, slightly acidic to neutral soil...

As Moon Grower says it likes Scottish soil! I tried to grow it several times after I saw it in Scotland......no luck.

There are folk in areas of Scotland who would love to have it in their garden so it isn't a nationalistic plant just a bloody minded one!

How do I say thanks?
