I wanted to buy Martagon Lilies (Turks Cap Lilies) but have read
a)they don't like to be moved
b) bulbs are best planted in Autumn
has anyone special knowledge of these delightful flowers as I should like to be sure before I buy.

Take a look at Jacques Amand International

The bulbs are not cheap but they are very good quality. As the Martagon is a summer flowering bulb planting in early spring will be fine. As the catalogue says they can take some time to settle.
We personally know the owner of this company and he and his sister work tirelessly and produce extremely good bulbs.
