It is hard to tell, I'm in Edinburgh and mine spawned about two weeks ago, if you can see them out and about it might be more likely as they come out more for spawning and hide the rest of the time. (Or maybe mine are just very secretive).

They dont usually spawn in a new pond? I have never in 12 years seen spawn or tadpoles in my pond but I always have plenty of new frogs each year. You may also find you get newts too.

I think it's too late...already got tadpols in mine. The pond will be in better shape for the taddies to survive by next year, so perhaps not a bad thing.

it depends on a lot of factors realy like all nature . frogs and toads do have a homing instinct like salmon and will cross many bodies of water to reach the pond they were actualy born in.saying that my mum has about an 8 year old pond that the odd frog and toad have spent a little time in but this year she has frog spawn.nature always finds a way of adapting to many situations even quite diverse hence poler bears i guess.there is a fungi that only lives in aviation fule.

you should see the spawn in my inlaws pond, be warned tho birds might eat the spawn when you get any or if you have some

some always get bye after all each toad or frog in life has only got to reproduce its self once to keep the population the same.
