I have a Wedding Day rose growing over a one storey boilding opposite my kitchen window. The roof it is on is slate but there is a peg tiled roof above that. Is it likely to get under tiles, or will it go for the light and continue to wave around as it is currently doing. I don't own the building, so want to be sure it won't damage the roof. Its been in 10 years and when you prune it those shoots don't flower the next year, so would like to avoid too much chopping back.

In theory you shouldn't be growing anything on someone else's property much less a building not owned by yourself

Shoots could get under a space, yes, as my equally vigorous 'Kiftsgate' has done. I think you'll need to do 'some' careful pruning, to avoid neighbour trouble and expense. I sympathise!
