Hi, can someone identify this for me please. I know it's either a snowdrop or a snowbell. I've tried google images but there seems to be some ambiguity. Many thanks in advance.

Great, thank you to you both. Is there much difference between a snowdrop and a snowbell? It's just that there's images on google images that make the snowbell look identical to the snowdrop. Or maybe google images isn't a very good reference point.

It is the shape of the petals. Snowbells tend to be round while Snowdrops are open.

The flower structure is very different. In Galanthus there are three inner petals (I know but keeping it simple ok!) and three outer ones. The outer ones in most cases are longer than the inner ones. ( When they are the same length then the flower is described as poculiformis).
In Leucojum there are six petals arranged in a circle, all of them the same size.

Many thanks. It's alot clearer now.
P.S. 'Leucojum', I looked that up on wikipedia, that's a snowflake. So is a snowflake the same thing as a snowbell?

Actually as far as I know 'Snowbell' is the English name for Soldanella species. Not native to Britain and usually to be seen flowering just above the snow in the Alps etc.
