Ihave a pot grown aucuba japonica in a 2 foot diam pot which i grew from a shoot years ago.The shrub is now about 4 foot tall but the tops of some new shoots have gone black and died off.Why,and how do i cure this?Also how do i feed it.?I havent a garden only a small backyard. Thank you.

i had mine in apot for quite a while,its now in the ground and the frost has damaged the tops a little and made them crispy and black in small areas.i would just cut the damaged bits out probably in may after the frost has gone.they don't like really cold wind either.
they normally grow in any soil type but you could give a feed of miraclegrow..
