I have a rhodedendron bush which I planted in my garden 3 years ago. It flowered the 1st year but although it is growing well it only produces new leaves and no new flowers

It probaly does not like the summer heat in Portugal, Casa. Rhododendrons typically grow in cool, moist mountain regions whilst I suspect that your summers are rather hot and dry?
In your situation I would try planting it in humus rich soil on the north side of a tree so that it is protected from the summer sun.

And water, water, water... Remember it need an ericaceous soil (i.e. acidic)
