Our Cordyline has lost all the leaves of every head (3) and we just have a 9ft trunk with no tops. But, we now have lots of shoots about 7" long now all round the base and up to a 1/3rd way up the trunk - do we just saw off the trunk? or leave it? It looks very weird like this?

Yes, saw off the trunk. I have done this to several cordylines, and have always ended up with fine smaller plants. Do feed it well after cutting and be patient .Good luck.
