I note that there are 2 names for this Solanum...is it possible the 'fruits' have any kind of worth? and are not poisonous if treated in some way? And how high does this plant grow? And will it spread?
Many thanks, Jess
I am in France and thismight pertain to plant as well.

Moon grower - you might find these pages interesting re. one that apparently is eaten - re. Solanum linearifolium. Its common name is 'Mountain Kangaroo Apple'.

Although I wouldn't particularly recommend eating it personally.

Aren't eggplants and garden huckleberries Solanums, too? Not that it's smart to be eating any Solanum that you don't know well!

The only solanum who's fruit you can eat is the tomato, all other solanums have fruit which is poisonous to humans.
