More likely the recent drought, Great. Beets won't ake much dryness before they decide it's time to reproduce.

i dont think drought is the problem as kept watered all the time, i have tried both growing in green house and outside so cold is not problem i have the same problem with my sweed planted out side and green house tried both on many occasions but to no avail ( could it be rubbish seeds?)

I was just thinking that is it old seed?
