Is my tree fern dead. frost damaged

Is my tree fern dead, it has a sticky crispy substance in the crown. I can feel fronds but they dont appear to be growing. This time last year it had about ten fronds growing. SHOULD I REMOVE THE STICKY STUFF FROM THE CROWN? PLEASE HELP

Good question!!......try a couple of tablespoons to a full watering can...

Try watering with a sugar/water solution.....This should "kick start" your tree fern into growth.....also make sure the trunk is kept moist....
