Hi there
Can i grow sunflowers in patio pots ( more than one ) so that they look plenty full and will they come back year after year?

Will it help if i cover them up - do birds really attack the flowers

Birds eat the seeds once the flower is drying off. Sunflowers are attaked by slugs when there growing. so put an empty bottle over them once you see some growth. This will help. Sunflowers are a food source for birds, the seeds are put into bird feeders.

Mercedes, I have a potted Ruellia brittoniana that I call "Droopy", because twice-a-day watering doesn't seem to be enough for him (her? it?). Around here, potted sunflowers do the same thing--hopefully better in a cooler, more humid climate! The rest of my plants I just smile as they grow and bloom, pat their leaves gently, and whisper "Thank you!" See, just a little crazy.
