Not the best picture in the world I know however can anyone tell me what this plant is? It was over run last year so got cut back however this year its hardly come back that much, dont know if the bad winter has taken its toll on it or cut back at wrong time of year or done too much?
I want to help it along to try to encourage it to grow more but fear touching it incase it dies off even more. If some one knows what it is please could you advise me on how to look after it better. It has green leaves and normally purple type flowers which from what I remember last year there were loads but this year hardly any....

Could be a Lavatera Dave....they grow large and woody like this...flowers usually are pink, but there are different varieties.

I don't think it's a Lavatera, Janey - they actually 'like' being cut hard back...I agree with Fluff - we could do with a closer look, please, Davey...
