Last night we got some much needed rain, well not a lot of rain but a bit! Looked at my pond this morning at 8 am and was gob smacked to see that the algae had gone!!! Yes overnight just the way it came 2/3 weeks ago. Came home this evening at 5pm and I have a bit of algae back in the pond! Is it usual for algae to come and go so quickly? I thought this morning that my pond had finally stabilised but now I think im wrong

it sinks overnight and in the day as they photosyntheise in the sun they move up to the surface. They release oxygen so they are able to float more. My oxygenator also moves like this as it is not anchored.
