Great, I have dozens and dozens what is your address??? Only joking, I only have the common garden ones, we purchased ours for the school pond at a garden centre that sells fish etc.

All the ones in my pond along with all the other creatures (except the fish) made their own way there.

Really Kfunster thats amazing! I know the mayflies and frogs oh please frogs will come one day. I wonder how the snails got to your pond? Maybe on plants you bought??

Baby snails often hitch a ride on the feet of waterbirds, and "go where no snail has gone before!" : ) You can hurry it up, or buy special ornamental snails, at a pond store, but by late summer you will probably have some of your own, anyway.

I would not put any in you will get some anyway. Introducing them may make for a large problem and they will eat your plants.

My snails, frogs, toads and newts etc just arrived a year or two after the pond was made.
It helps to have some way of frogs/toads getting out of the pond to feed, once they have arrived (and let other things that accidentally fall in, get out too).

Thank you all for your comments Ok, DRC & Koicarp -I was a little worried about buying them . I worried that I might introduce disease into the pond. Longleaf, love the avitar by the way. I have thought about creatures getting in and out of my pond they have a beach, this I redesigned a little while ago adding to it. so no worries there. Haven't put another photo up as yet. Hopefully over the bank holiday i want to make a few changes to my pond. Has any one got a marsh marigold cutting that I could have please? Hope you all don't think I am being cheeky by asking. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. Lets hope the sun shines!!!
