Im thinking of growing a clematis 'madame Julia Correvon' in a pot. Is this a suitable pot growing one?

I wouldn't call it compact, Denise - I wonder who said that? Mine has gone right up into next door's Hazel tree...I suppose in a pot it 'might' be OK, but I'd call it a vigorous one from my experience!

Neither would I Spritz mine is very long stretches along about 6 ft and the same in height, The sellers say this on their details though so to be fair I thought I had to mention it!

Yes, you were fair. However, we've both found that this info. from the sellers isn't correct, so Cookygirl needs to know our experience.....

Cookygirl, did you know that there are new Clematis available to grow in pots? I put one in with my Kalmia latifolia a few weeks ago - it's a beauty, and it will only grow to a maximum of 5'. At the moment, it's about 2'6".
Why not go and have a browse at your local Garden Centre and see if they've got them there. :-)))

I grow this in the ground and it took awhile to take off, I would have said no if you want a good show but the sellers say 'It is a more compact variety which makes it perfect for growing in a container' So you could give it a go! enyoy it as it is a lovely one.
