What would be the recommended choice of plant/s for growing up, and through, a 5 foot tall obelisk in a full sun position?
Something fragrant and not rampant, if possible.

I just bought a climbing rose "Pink Perpetue" for my obelisk.

A climbing rose - but check the ultimate height carefully and don't go for a 20-footer! plus a clematis armandii for spring interest.

oops! the one I got grows to 15ft! Will have to keep it trimmed I think!

Buddleja alternifolia, the 'Argentea' cultivar is less rampant.

Thank you all for the input.
I rather like the buddleja concept - I already have "alternifolia" and didn't consider that idea.
Maybe put some runner beans to scramble with it until it fills out!
Thanks again for all your suggestions.
