The wasps are taking the chewed up wood to build their byke with.

Thanks MG I have just researched to and found out as this is 1st time seen them doing it in my garden so hope the nest is not too close by.

Went 5 miles up the cycle track yesterday. Certainly more flies etc than usual but fortunately not big black ones. Had several mouthfulls though - ugh.

They are not usually a problem for us and they regularly chew wood from out garden furniture

They say you can always tell a happy cyclist - by the flies in his teeth!!

I may be happy cyclist but no fun these horrid flies.
