I have just one self-set , 6ft 6 ins tall foxglove that's grown in the worst area of soil in my garden. It's been neither watered nor fed at all, and the ground there is like concrete.
While I know nothing at all about flowers I might collect some seeds from this to set next year.
Does this sound a good idea ?

You can collect it if you want, but what I usually do is cut the flower stem down once its got seeds, then give it a good shake so the seeds fall out onto the soil. They're more likely to germinate in a damper place though.

Thanks very much. Your advice is very welcome.

You don't have to collect seed as they are good at self seeding but its a good idea if you want to be sure. They are biennials and will take a year to mature. They grow virtually anywhere.
