Hard to say without knowing what the growing conditions are - this plant needs shade and wet or very moist soil, so if yours gets sun and/or not enough water at the roots, that would explain brown leaves.

I agree with bamboo, they like shade and moisture. Mine is on clay soil, wet most of the year and has never had brown tips. You can see a pic in my photos. Mine is a chelone turtlehead, same plant?
