I live in Dallas Texas and I am looking for a hardy hedge rose that will tolerate the heat. If anyone has any suggestions, I am all ears. Thanks!

In Scotland I would be looking at the Burnet Rose, Rosa spinosissima, of which there are many cultivars. It grows well in dry, sandy conditions and exposed to sea winds. I see no reason for it not to tolerate heat but you should check this out localy, Rolando.

I do know that various states in the USA use certains species type roses for growing on the freeways to beautify them. Not sure of the exact species involved though.

I have just found this article which gives a large listing of native roses from the USA.

Terratoonie, you have an excellent selection of photos. I enjoyed them.
Bulbaholic, I'll follow up on the Rosa Spinosissima to see if it compatible to my area.
