Am trying to grow Gypsophilia but slugs eat every smidge of greenery as it comes thro'... l have managed to keep it alive in a pot - it has a thick root and is sprouting merrily there. My question is - does anyone know which type I have annual/perennial ? and how can I protect it until it's tough enough to withstand onslaught in the garden? Thanks

Water the plant and soil with 'slug clear' ....it never fails.

Does it stop slugs eating potatoes John?

Would you want to eat potatoes that had been watered with slug clear Stera? I wouldn't.

I have only used slug clear on flowers NEVER vegetables or fruit. Every year my hostas get eaten to bits by slugs and snails....this year I watered the leaves and surrounding soul with slug clear and hostas are perfect. Ststing again I would not use it anywhere near fruit of vegetables.

No Bamboo, but if it was watered in very early on wouldn't it have disappeared by the time the potatoes were formed? Must admit I never thought of that, but I'm fed up with having to discard about a quarter fo the crop.

Stera - Bamboo did not answer this question, I did, even if the slugs have eaten part of the potatoes why can't you still use them?
