after looking in my mushroom/fungi book, the only one that is vaguely similar is dead mans fingers. this may be what they look like before they emerge... otherwise i draw a dead end.

Yes me too. I love all fungi so fascinating, not too keen on the eating of edibles but love them. Came across a coral fungus last year, was very exciting :)

wow that almost looks like a sculpture its quit amazing . its not poo I don't think . id guess at a fungi but never seen this before . what were the conditions and position you found it in ?
