Errr! It maybe?
Arabis caucasica Little Treasure Deep Rose :o|

Not sure what it is, but not Arabis, that has only 4 petals, these have five.

Intriguing - those ferny bits behind the flower on the left do not match the leaves, which themselves look petunia like. When you ordered these seeds, there must have been another name with the 'purple rose' part, because 'purple rose' will, as Bulbaholic says, only be the varietal name.

Maybe it's a "Adeium Desert Rose" ??
Or maybe not LOL
I'm Stumped :o))

I would like to say thanks for the comments so far everybody that gave me names of roses sort of look like them but the centers are different and the foliage but i think we are getting somewhere I have also contacted gardening programs to see if they can help.

The arrangement in the centre of flower reminds me hugely of Platycodon - I think this is Platycodon grandiflorus, the closest colour I can find is 'Astra Pink', but this may be a new hybrid called Purple Rose, though I can't find it listed anywhere as that. If the flowers look like balls before they open, its definitely Platycodon grandiflorus.
By the way, Luck 77, none of the names you were given by anyone in these answers related to the genus Rosa, or Rose. One thing we can say for sure is, this is NOT a Rose. Google 'Platycodon Astra Pink' and select images for pictures - note that flowers vary between 4 and 5 petals.

Thankyou everybody i found out what its called and its not a rose its called phlox paniculata Pink Flame
3 Aug, 2014
Never seen anyone grow Phlox paniculata from seed before. Well done.
3 Aug, 2014
Sorry, Mike, but that isn't a Phlox.
3 Aug, 2014
Agree with Bulbaholic - it that's a Phlox, I'm a monkey's uncle... for one thing, the leaves aren't right for Phlox, though I can see why, looking only at an individual flower, a somewhat ill informed person might mistake it for a phlox, but even then, those 5 little pale curled horns in the centre are most certainly not present in any phlox flower, individual or otherwise.

He! He! This sure has got us going LOL :o)))))

Posted this on another site and no-one can id it there either.
Would like to see a picture of the back of the flower and one from slightly to one side.
For example are the white 'horns' projections or are they petal markings.
Intriguing really.

These 'horns' are often present on Platycodon, and on Gardenia 'Kleims Hardy'. Its not the latter for sure, and I'd really like to see a flower bud before it opens...

That's me put different pictures up

Not Platycodon then, buds are the wrong shape... but they are the right shape for Phlox (and lots of other flowering plants)

Yes. well.mmmmmmm.

Consensus of opinion is that this is Phlox drummondii, which is an annual version of the familiar Phlox. If so, save the seed and re-sow for the following year.

this time it is definitely Phlox drummondii thank you owdboggy
10 Aug, 2014
Not something I have ever grown which is why it took some identifying.

Previous question

Next question
Not sure what they are, Mike, (someone will) but 'Purple Rose' will be a cultivar name.
