Crocosmia. Whilst enjoying a lovely holiday in West Ireland, I was astounded to find that along all the grass verges, crocosmia had self seeded everywhere! And I mean everywhere!!! I noticed some people were growing it in their garden and can see how easily it has self seeded. I am now determined to dig mine out as it has spread throughout my garden.

More or less a hedgerow plant - Cornwall's got tons of it, and parts of Devon. I'm assuming you mean the old fashioned, original Crocosmia masonorum with the orange flowers.
