I take the fruit pod off my fuchsias after they have flowered.

the flower on a fuchsia generally falls off, what i do especially this time of year is just rummage through the foliage and pick out the dead flowers, and while im at it i just pluck of the cherries or fruit pods before they get to big and start to weigh the plant down, i love doing it, i find it very relaxing to sit there and just pluck away.

I am no expert but when I am on jungle patrol I deadhead everything that needs it ,roses, dahlias(pointy ones)marigolds, geraniums, fuchsias etc.apart from sweetpeas which need constant picking to allow constant flowering. This allows the plant to generate more flowers and also keeps things tidy, kerryvw.

This works with some plants Kerry but not with others… Certainly deadhead annuals keeps them flowering but deadheading a fuchsia won't cause it to produce more flowers, as it is as the buds were all created early in the year.

Yes you can do, especially petunias.
