I have one growing in a pot it seems to have done better in pot after lifting from garden.

First year so let's see how it come through the winter.

Photinias wil make quite a big shrub though so you may end up meeding a pretty big pot.

Yes I have a standard Red robin in a pot and it is doing quite well. It didn't start off very well but it has improved with care.
