I had one for a long time and was very satisfied with it. It had three scales, pH, light and moisture, which was also good if you weren't sure about the need to water a big pot. I broke it this year through pushing it into ground that was too hard and then trying to pull it out
again. Am about to look for another one. Sorry don't know the make as I slung it.

Using it is a lot quicker than doing it the chemical way as there is no need to take samples, mix with water etc. I did a comparison and the results were the same.

Wilkinson's have a soil ph tester combined with moisture tester. Price about four pounds I think! Didn't check to see where you live though.

I bought a very cheap one, can't remember how much, but it was well under £4. It's probably not super accurate, but it does what I need. Have a look in the pound shops.

I have the £4 Wilco one, and it gives wildly different pH values when inserted into my borders - anything from about 6.8 to about 8.0! I haven't done chemical tests to compare these findings, but it doesn't feel right...
I've gone back to my tried and tested strategy, see a plant, buy it, plant it, if it dies buy something else!

I didn't believe mine either until I checked against a chemical one and it was correct. Perhaps your borders do vary?? Either reading I bet you have some nice rhodies!

How do I say thanks?
