Suggestions for a new decorative tree. Unfortunately I lost my small crab apple tree earlier this year and am looking to replace it this autumn. Could anyone suggest a small decorative tree either a cherry blossom tree or crab apple tree that does not grow too vigorously and lets in a bit of light. Would like a tree that has more of an horizontal canapy like a mushroom shape. Thanks.

And Crataegus tanacetifolius has pretty foliage as well as blossom, but the fruits drop and sprout everywhere.

Not a cherry or crab apple, but I love Crataegus Laevigata which has a horizontal canopy. And the birds and bees love it!
