Was going to say 'clover' is fab for the bees, worth leaving a patch to flower and then watch the bees enjoy them.

For me, any wild flowers are welcome in my grass which I could never describe as a lawn. Manicured lawns are of no use to wildlife although they look neat. Depends what you want.

Hi, I agree with all the above, and if you have clover in your lawn, and we get a prolonged drought, your lawn will still look fairly green, because clover collects nitrogen inthe roots, much like legumes do, Derek.

It depends on whether you want Wimbledon Tennis or Wimbledon Common - is your idea of a lawn something shaved down to a couple of millimetres? In which case you probably won't want clover. If you want a patch of green that supports wildlife then clover is great.
