when do you know when to start digging potatoes

when flower buds appear thats when the potatoes are starting to grow , the flowers are fully open allow about seven days ,then you can dig them up . but check first by pushing you hand down into the soil to see if you can feel them first.its too late once you have dug them up.enjoy
