Rhubarb roots
Hi everyone, I'm dividing the clumps of my rhubarb but i think one of the clumps has rotten roots. Can you please have a look at the photo and tell me what you think? The middle is brown and unhealthy looking. When I poked it woodlice came out! The rhubarb grew fine this year except some leaves had red spots so I'm wondering if this is the reason.
Thanks, marie x

Thanks SB. I might just get rid of it as I have about 6 other clumps to replant!
I really don't like woodlice. I know they apparently don't do any harm but they give me the creeps!

if that bit is mushy it is rotten but you should be able to save the firmer parts and get it growing again. but having said that it is cheap enough to buy a replacement crown.
The woodlice eat the decaying parts and this is typical of their behaviour.
